Most people think of the flu as a gastro-intestinal bug in which you have vomiting and diarrhea. The real flu for which we get the flu shot for is a severe upper respiratory infection that can last up to several weeks and is very difficult to knock out of your system.
If you go to the doctor at the first signs of it you can get medicine that will make the severity of it much better and you will not be ill for as long.
Symptoms are coughing, fever, chills, sweating, fatigue, body aches.
Do not try and work and deal with this because you will just become more ill. You will need plenty of rest, fluid, and medicine to bring down your fever.
Go back to work when you no longer have a fever and when you feel like you are strong enough to work a full day, and are not coughing all over the rest of your fellow employees!
